Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks kicked off the year strong on the recruiting trail, quickly climbing to the No. 1 spot nationally thanks to commitments from several elite prospects.

However, momentum slowed in recent weeks after losing a few key pledges — including 5-star offensive tackle Kodi Green and 4-star standouts Jonas Williams and Tomuhini Topui, who all flipped to other programs.

But there’s good news for Ducks fans: recruiting buzz in Eugene is picking up again. This past weekend, Oregon hosted a wave of top-tier talent, including multiple 5-star recruits. The visit paid off, as On3’s Steve Wiltfong predicted that 5-star EDGE Richard Wesley will commit to Oregon. Wesley is ranked No. 20 overall in the 2026 class and is the No. 3 EDGE in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Wesley wasn’t the only big name in town — 5-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, the No. 1 overall player in the class, also attended the Ducks’ spring game. Cantwell is expected to decide between Oregon and Georgia in the coming weeks. Just days before Cantwell’s announcement, 5-star quarterback Jared Curtis will choose between the same two schools on May 5.

If the Ducks land any of these top targets, it could spark a major recruiting surge heading into the summer.
